About Dr. La Sala
Dr. Michael La Sala, D.O., M.Sc., is a board-certified Psychiatrist and Psychotherapist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric illnesses. He serves as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Florida Atlantic University's Schmidt College of Medicine and is the Director of Emergency and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at FAU's Delray Medical Center.
Dr. La Sala earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and a master's degree in neurosciences from the University of Florida, along with a certificate in clinical translational research. He completed his medical doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Nova Southeastern University, followed by a residency in general adult psychiatry and a fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry at Stony Brook University. He actively teaches psychiatry residents and medical students and remains involved in clinical psychiatric research.
